Figure can mean:
- a person with a specific quality; often a well-known person,
- a number or a sum of money, or
- (with out) to find a way to do something.
- My favorite author is coming to my school! He’s an impressive figure.
- He’s such a good writer. He deserves to earn a large figure.
- I’ll have to figure out how to get his autograph.
Meet Lexie! She time traveled from the ancient world and landed in Storyworks. Lexie loves words—especially ones with Greek and Latin roots. Today, she’s using words with the Latin root rupt. That means break or burst. Can you figure out the meaning of the orange words below?
